I guess everyone missed my actual point.
The kids actions are likely a result of bad parenting. That is why I said don't spank the kids, spank the parents. I know the parents are in jail, I was speaking hypothetically... I didn't actually expect the original poster to spank anyone (he'd go to jail for that).
There are different schools of thought on how to teach kids right from wrong. Being that I work in the mental health field, I personally think there are better ways to teach kids than with the threat of causing violence to them. Studies and theories can point to either view point as being the correct one, so we really don't know for sure if being raised with spankings results in well behaved kids, or if it starts them on a career of doing something worse.
Again, I don't expect anyone to actually go and spank either of the parties in this, it was not meant literal.

So sorry you are stuck dealing with the actions of these delinquents. I hope you get either a new car or someone does an a+ job repairing yours.

I am so happy I had good parents, and I live and work in nice neighborhoods.

Enlighten you? They're not even 10 years old, they are a product of horrible parenting, and there's little chance that these kids will ever lead a normal life. I know it's easy to distance yourself from that, but having or posting pictures of these kids accomplishes nothing. Why would you even want pictures? Do you want to go beat up two kids whose combined age doesn't even add to that of an adult? Personally, I'd rather see the kids protected. Get them some guidance. Give them a CHANCE, even if it's small, of having some sort of normalcy as children. Don't public shame them on an Internet forum, tough guy.

Yes, all grown. When children are small, they learn by example. They are a product of their upbringing, not of their fear. It's not good to spank our dogs either when they get into mischief.

At any rate, what they did to that car is absolutely criminal. I feel for the car. :(

Exactly. I work closely with the kids who are in the custody of the juvenile justice system. They don't need punishment, they need guidance. Thankfully I feel a part of that and see many kids who've made horrible mistakes start to take stock of themselves and become better people through the right methods.

The kids need to participate in the solution since they created the problem

1st, total the car and make the owner whole.
2nd place the damaged car in a locked area with the kids, no tv, music, internet etc.
3rd have the kids hand sand the entire car down to bare metal and don't let them out until it is complete.
4th after the car is completely stripped down by hand by them, take the kids to the car crusher and let them watch their work get crushed so they can understand the feeling.
