I've been fortunate enough to own, build, and race some of baddest street Rides GM has produced over the past 20 years. I've vowed to never get attached to a Car again after burning my 2nd highly modified Impala to the ground and getting burned trying to put it out.

This ZL1 will be very hard to get rid though. Baddest Ride I've ever owned hands down.

Man, you may be right, sorry if I misinterpreted question. Not a keeper for me, I did own a Red Hot ZL1 that I traded in for the Z/28.

When I started the post, I was just asking about the value of the ZL1 to you, the owner. I wasn't necessarily talking about its value as a collectors car. Now the Z28 may be a collector's car.

There was only 1,975 first year (2012) Zl1's. If a fella could keep one good, with low mileage, it's quite reasonable to think there will be appreciation in value eventually. But that may be 15-20 years.
Mines not a daily driver & I try to stay out of the rain, but I don't know that I could keep the miles off. I just want to drive it all the time.
I had an '07 911 GT3 for a bit. & it's an awesome car but for street driving, every time I had the 911 out, I just wanted to get in my ZL1. Ride, driveability, comfort, etc. high praise.
So, while it seems hard to imagine me keeping a car for 20 years. I will be keeping my 1of 94 2012 Camaro ZL1 as long as I can.

I will own a C7 shortly & am keen to see which car I will favour on a Sunday drive. life is good.

If I were in the position to be able to buy a Z06, I wouldn't have to think twice about getting rid of the ZL1. In fact, I was looking for a c6 Z06 when I bought the Z.

I should also say that there is no other car I'd rather being driving at any price at this point in time. Not even a corvette. (Need a back seat.) But in the future, who knows? I'd love to replace my Mazda CX-9 with an LT4 based CTS-V wagon if they ever make such a thing.

Chett, to us that have been in TAPCA/BADRAP/Mafia, the Impala will always be you. To many, Ghost 1 will be me even though I had the 2002 Z06 Vette (Ghost 3) that Kyle and Ryan built to kill Ghost 1. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It was a progression of speed. And it damn sure was !

As a car, I like the ZL1 more than The Ghost just because ZL1 is such an awesome platform. And that SLP was noticeably better than a stock SS. The brochure was serious. So understanding that, I think you may hang in your ZL1 unless something crazy comes out AND it's the right buy.

BTW - after you and Da Truth I keep two chemical extinguishers in my trunk. I hung with him more and actually drove that car (his Camaro SS) when we switched cars at spot 1 one night just to be funny. When both of you had fires and I found that rather disturbing.

Agreed.

I'm not sure why more people who mod their cars don't carry a fire extinguisher in the cars on race/track days.

Here's a pic of one in my V6 Camaro on track days. I just moved this to the ZL1 but haven't taken picture of the FE in the ZL1 yet.

Murder 1 you may be right Man. I'll be in the ZL1 for a while. BADDASS Ride! The CTS-V was a close 2nd, but the Auto was a downer. The 06' C6Z was plain Evil and taught me how to drive when I thought I already could LOL. The Impala was .....well you know on another level !!

Kaboom, I thought that too after a burned my first modded car down. The 2nd Pala had a full blown Halon system with (2) extra fire extinquishers in the car. The sad lesson i learned is If a Car is going to burn it will burn unless you have a fire safety vehicle riding behind you on the street or track.

Way off track. The ZL1 is a Keeper!!

Not a bad idea. I used to ever since I say a car melt down at the track return lane one night and nothing he could do about it.
