SHELL Premuim
TEXACO Premium
CHEVERON Premium
QUICK TRIP Premium

I dont put any gas in my car unless it is from a station from the list above. I would rather run out and be towed. I had this same experience with a SAAB 97X (LS2) and learned my lesson from that wehicle. Now I know better and you do too.

WORST GAS IN AMERICA LIST

SAMS Club
COSTCO
EXXON
VALERO
MOBILE
7-11, Racetrack, etc (or any convenience store besides Quick Trip)
PHILLIPS 66
etc. Basically anything not on the list above.

My general rule; always run SHELL premium, it is hands down the best gas for high performance cars.
Exxon is not low quality gasoline. I prefer chevron or shell because of their additives, but exxon is a high quality gasoline.

BTW OP,
don't pay for a TB service. Maf cleaner or brake cleaner is all you need IF, it is dirty. Otherwise, installing a oil catch can virtually eliminated this issue.

Really ???? I've heard people say mobile is one of the top . I actually use mobile and mobile oil filter. Interesting you say that. Curious as to how many more feel the same about Mobile. (Not trying to start a heavy debate just curious. Newbie still in training here)

I always go out of my way to use top tier gas, but I was wondering exactly why people are recommending it for tb cleaning in our cars, didn't think good gas or contaminated gas had any affect on our tb's.

just came from scheduled maintenace and i did not accept the throttle body service advised by my dealer. $100 plus.
dealer said "if dirt gets into your engine and something happens warranty will not cover it".

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

i don't even see in the owner's manual that throttle body service is required.

I had Bo White do mine, but he ported it while he was at it. About the same price.

I took my vert in as they never connected the posts for the tonneau cover to keep it secure with the elastic hooks. The service guy stated I had a bad throttle body, said he found out with diagnostic tool that threw him a code and he ordered one for me and the next week it was there and installed. Didn't realize it and they covered it under warranty. It does seem to run better, but to be honest I didn't realize it wasn't.....

I'm not sure if this is the same service discussed in this thread, but....
I brought my car in for service about a month ago and they said I'm due for a throttle body cleaning. I decided to do it.
I got my car back and immediately noticed a difference, especially in high RPM performance. The engine seems to idle smoother too. FWIW, the exhaust even seems to be louder in higher RPM (although I could be imagining that).
The receipt says "Fuel service, upper intake, fuel rail, throttle plate cleaning with additive". Price was $115.
Call me crazy, stupid, uninformed, etc. I think this cleaning was worth it. You should definitely consider this the next time you're at the dealership for service.....and maybe have some extra money to spend.

Jsut got an oil change yesterday. Writer said I need to have the TB service next time. I didn't really pay much attention cause I always suspect they are on the take. Get home and look at the write up and it says that the service is $260!!!!!!!! No way was I gonna do it but at that price......wow, smh.

Thanks gang for the info. I will take the TB off and give a quick cleaning.
