AGAIN, if I was wrong in not shipping the items with a "PENDING" payment, that's on me I guess, but I'm not shipping anything to anyone unless I have the money available to me.
I tried to have timely communication with the buyer, yes sometimes it was a day or two later. I'm sorry I don't live on these forums, I have a career, a family, and other things going on in life. I advised the seller that I would be leaving for Camaro5fest and would ship when I go back because the funds hadn't cleared prior to me leaving I promptly returned the funds as soon as he filed the claim with Paypal That all being said, I feel I haven't done anything wrong. I will continue to do the same thing on any transaction I have on here, whether I'm the seller or buyer. I will contact an Admin and have them review the incident. If I'm wrong, I'll take my lumps, but I won't stand by and have this guy try and drag me through the mud over a $350 dollar sale.

Well that sums it up. Looks like OP was very unrealistic and the accused did nothing wrong. Now, not only does he look like a dick to Drottie, his own actions of going public makes him look like one to everyone else. Awesome! Good lesson here to learn.

Also: This was the first time I've had a buyer request an invoice. Normally if I'm selling anything, including the $1400 clutch I sold just before this mess, I just send a request for funds. Its been the same way when I buy things. Admittedly, I'm not sure if that is what caused the delay in his payment clearing Paypal.

OP's use of terms such as, "piece of shit short dicked wanker," among many other things (some worse) speak highly about his character. If he felt he was being cheated, the correct course of action is to be professional about it.
Drottie, you're owed an apology... though I'm sure you will not get it.

Just seems very unrealistic. I have only sold a couple things through Paypal in the past, but I never shipped until I saw the funds in my account.

I really think the buyer was the scammer. He wanted that stuff shipped while the funds were pending. I think he knew the money wasn't there, and you were never going to get it.

Bingo! He should of called PayPal to verify their policy, but when someone pays me and funds are pending PayPal says do not send item until funds are received.

Drottie has been a great member on this forum for just shy of 5 years now with zero history of infractions or scams to any members.
And as someone who deals with PayPal quite frequently, pending payments happen often. They don't go to "PAID" once the item is shipped. They will stay as PENDING until they are cleared. OP jumped the gun. Plain and simple. Furthermore, OP had plenty of time to file a claim later in the week after the fest should the part not have shipped. Next time someone says payment is pending, give them the benefit of the doubt. As a buyer, they want to make sure they get their money just as much as you want to make sure you get your part. Thread closed. |
