L99 cam opinions

Hey guys I'm leaning towards doing the cam for my car and talked to a reputable performance shop about it. The guy there told me about a cam, 223/231 114 lsa. I wanted to know if anyone had this cam, I'm liking it because I can keep my stock converter. I don't really take the car to the track so it's more of a cruiser/dd. I just wanted insight or opinions from folks on here with more experience than me.

Thanks again folks

You really need to look to the shops that have designed and tested VVT specific camshafts. With the Texas Speed grinds we ship the camshaft with VVT timing tables specific to your camshaft. In other words if your installer has no idea how to tune the VVT it doesn't matter. We load engine dyno tested & developed the tables for each of the VVT camshafts so that all your tuner has to do is copy & paste these tables. From there they can treat it like a normal everyday tune & you get the benefit of VVT without worrying about your tuner knowing everything there is to know about it!

TSP has several grinds that have proven 100 flywheel HP gains!!

Which vvt cams work with the stock stall? Also which cam is the closest to the one I have mentioned. I do want it to make good power and also lope some but I don't want anything crazy. Thanks again

VVT-1 is the max I would drive on a stock stall. If your ultimately going to go bigger stall you can buy a bigger camshaft, it just wont drive great until you get that stall put in.

just your description does not tell the lift and other figures for the cam and if its VVT friendly to keep that good feature if desired or if your going ls3 conversion or what.....

Bought and installed a tsp vvt cam when they were about the only choice on the market. The issue i have is they won't tell me the specs of the cam that I bought. I dont know if they sent a spec card with the cam when it was installed but i never got it. Based on the customer service i wouldn't recommend them

Might check with Rhino with GPI also. They have a VVT SS1 and SS2 cam that may play nice with the factory stall. I am looking at them in the future.

Most definitely go with GPI for a VVT cam.
