Windshield

Have a 2013 1LE SS with HUD
I have a cracked windshield, which is going to have to be replaced. My insurance covers cost. My question is who should I use to replace it? Gieco is recommending safelite, but I can use any company for replacement. Any help is appreciated

As you know the windshield glass is special for the cars equipped with HUD just make sure you get that special glass and safelite is a good company like many others.

Thx for the info... Not going to use safelite their glass quality is junk, I've got a company who will replace with OEM windshield. Insurance covers total cost

Never had trouble with Safelite in the past (either with repairs or replacement, but I've not replaced HUD glass, either). Which company did you end up using?

I've always used Safelite. I no longer have two cars they've replaced windshields on, but I still have my 2001 Suburban and the quality is just fine. In fact, its the OEM windshield. The same windshield that is on my fathers 2001 Silverado and my mothers 2002 Tahoe. They're the original owners and have never has their windshields replaced.

I don't even think Safelite manufactures replacement windshields. They might use aftermarket windshields for some makes and models, but thats not a reflection on Safelite, but whoever made the windshield.

Just for the hell of it, I did a quote with Safelite and they ask weather you have remote start and/or HUD.

Safelite replaced mine with OEM windshield.
I've got remote start and HUD, if that makes a difference - like forces them to use OEM.

My factory windshield is nothing special. After the first couple of years of
highway driving it was totally sandblasted (fine chips). Now its even worse.

Safelite will use the OE windshield manufacturer (Pilkington) for the camaro HUD... Use them... best install training...
