Apple Car Play Disconnecting Randomly/Not Connecting At Times

Anyone else having issues with Apple CarPlay not connecting properly or losing connection while driving? This is driving me crazy. I am using a brand new Lightning cable, so I doubt it is a short in the cord. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Take it back and have them flash an update to the system. Mine would not stay connected for more than a few tens of seconds before disconnecting and crashing the infotainment system. After showing the service folks exactly what it was doing and showing it happened with two different cables, both from Apple, they found a bulletin that lead to them re-flashing the infotainment module.

Check your Iphone charge port. mine was doing the same, but I just had some lint in the charge port.

I am having the same issue.. Will try and see if it works today.. BTW do we need a specific version of IOS to get car play.

You shouldn't need a specific version of iOS - in fact you generally can't downgrade to an earlier version of iOS.

I just checked a while back... You need at least iOS 7.1 to use car play.. I have 7.0 on my iphone 5.. Will try upgrading it and using it.

But this connecting and disconnecting is a pain in the ass.
