Gas has gone up here (MI) to almost $2.70 today. How much would it have to go up to before you would consider selling your daily driver gas hog or maybe buying something a little more economical as a DD?

Also what price point would sway your decision to buy a V8 if you were in the market for one?

I lived in Hawaii several years ago when gas was something around $8+ gallon. Cost me near $100 to fill my G35 DD at the time. I wouldn't have traded it for anything, same goes for my Camaro now. Gotta pay to play, that includes gas and maintenance. Why are you worried about $2.70 a gallon? Is not that still cheaper than the previous years?

I didn't say I was worried. I just want to gauge when sales of smaller motors will increase.

This was my DD before I got my Camaro when gas was $3.50+ a gallon. I don't understand your question.

I don't even notice. I spend waaaay more on other stuff in my life than I do on gasoline. Then again, my work commute is only a 25 mile round trip.

Take home car is a nice perk.

My Tundra got green stickered as emissions exempt last year since I didn't put more than 5000 miles on it last year. Now that the Camaro replaced it, it's my play car along with the motorcycles, so I doubt I'll get near 5k this year either.

I vote never. I do supplement my motorcycle on my daily 60 mile commute though.

+1... I'll put my 09 C14 back on the road for DD, 40mpg and lots of smiles per mile... except when sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.

Gas prices are not a factor for me in deciding what I will drive. I like big, so gas prices go up, it's just something that I will suffer through.

In my small fleet of vehicles, my Camaro is my economy car/ DD. The Suburban, the Blazer, and the Silverado all use more gasoline per mile. I commute 350 miles per week, and do an additional 10k miles per year on road trips and extras, so, no matter what, I'm going to just burn up a lot of my income through the tailpipe.

Gas right now, in my area of CA, is $2.49/ gallon... and I'm pretty happy with that, for now. Same area has gotten to $5 before, so this FEELS like Christmas. Sometimes, hell, I'll even pour a little on the ground now, just because I can. Okay, I made that part up... but still, $2.49 has held for nearly two months now, and I dig it.

I'm glad not to be paying some European prices, where they are paying, what, the equivalent of $10- $12/ gallon? Much of that pricing is punitive: Their governments imposing taxes/ fees/ tariffs for the specific purpose of deterring people from driving. I am the first to complain all day long about the jacked up taxation here in the states, and especially in Kali, but at least we don't have to pay a severe punitive penalty like they do there.
