I have actually found that customer's will pay more when you are working to meet their needs and wants, and honestly want to help them. Sounds crazy, but by listening to the customer, I've almost doubled my annual gross. Go figure!
As far as my dealership, 8 time Mark of Excellence consecutive winner, and 2007 Dealer of the Year. 3rd generation dealership in business for over 75 years in same location. I am truely blessed to work for Mr. Clark. He is probably the best principle dealer I have ever met. And he doesn't take kindly to dishonest sales people. If he finds out you lie, or screw a customer over he will fire you no questions asked. Go Charles Clark Chevrolet!! |

Here is a perfect example of dealers ripping people off I live in NJ nothing new were always getting F!*% but it is a 1 SS RS Cyber Gray Camaro with the boston acoustic radio and a sun roof nothing else
If you cant read that its 5000 over msrp for supposed market value adjustment bs looks like its going to be a while till I replace my boat and most dealers in NJ do this and its not even worth that much on kbb not to mention the 6000 loss in value as soon as it leaves the lot. Believe it or not, they aren't dropping 6,000 right away when you drive off. I've had two customers trade in V-6's to get V-8's after about 3 months. They were only looking at about $2000 neg equity. Still don't believe in the mark-up though

Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, TX
So I stop by Reliable Chevy in Richardson, TX this afternoon to see what they have on the lot. 1 manual Black 2SS/RS with IOM interior (which is right up my alley) and a pretty White with Orange Striped Automatic (not sure if it was a 6 or 8 since my mind went blank when I heard the word "automatic"). Sticker on the 2SS is msrp at 35 and some change along with an extra sticker on the window showing a "protection package" that included Lo-Jack and some standard, useless spray on stuff for $1895. (Why would you need Lo-Jack if On-Star is enabled?).
At any rate, my smoke filled mind justified the $1895 surcharge as being not too unreasonable so off to the salesman's office we go. After discussing financing and other things with him for a while, he meanders off to the main sales area. About 15 minutes later, he returns and hands me the deal sheet, where upon he informs me that in addition to the $1895 ream package, there is a $5000 market adjustment on the car. Now that was a really sneaky thing to do. So the actual mark up on the car was $6895. Of course, I thanked him and proceeded to make haste toward the exit. I don't believe the salesman knew about the adjustment until he talked to his "pit" boss because he knew right away that I would be walking the minute he told me. At any rate, I'm on my way to Classic Chevy in Grapevine tomorrow to put an order in. |

Also remember it all depends on area for trade in value but I hope that is true and that $5000 mark up is true and when I priced it on kbb its value for my area was $34000 and honestly I would pay that but the car has been sitting there for 2 months now disk are starting to get nice and rusty maybe it will find a home soon but with that price certainly not mine and what really kills me its exactly what I want too. |
