I've already gone through the filter swap. It did NOT fix the issue. The black box data recorder has arrived and will be installed on Tuesday. I will let you know what they find. Our issue sound almost identical.

You know it and I know it but I have to just go through the motions and see what they want to do next
My friend at the dealer said they want to put a go pro at the air filter to see what it is doing at the time it cuts out, they said they had this problem with the CTS-V Caddy..We will see..

You know this should be pretty dang easy to look at by scanning it with HP Tuners and see if it's a filter collapsing or if the computer is commanding the limiter. Logging things like airflow, desired torque, torque source, boost, etc is going to paint a pretty good picture.

Exactly. hook it up to a computer run a data log and send that file to GM. If the GM wizards cant figure it out then maybe explore Rotofabs intake. Not for nothing but the intake tube on our cars seems a little squishy to me. girth is quite impressive lol but it just doesnt feel strong... possible that tube can collapse even a little bit causing an issue? just a thought.

They did hook up computer and captured it and sent all the data to GM and their answer was to get a updated air filter and retest
It also does it with the K&N air filter
I did finally get on camera doing it in first gear.
I will try to load the video of it

The stock intake tube on the 5th gen ZL1 can get sucked shut from an increased inlet pressure drop under high rpms. Lingenfelter even sells a replacement metal intake tube to to solve this problem.

I'm wondering if the same thing is happening here. The LT4 does make a pound or two more boost than the LSA but still uses the same "squishy" rubber intake tube.

Exactly!
I only have 200miles on mine but the intake looks partially collapsed even with the motor off.
Considering a CAI just for this reason.
