Traction mode question

My car is M6. My question is what are the differences between traction on and hitting it again and going into competition driving mode. Only had the car a couple weeks but launching it seems to always activate torque management in competition mode but if I only leave it with traction off it spins but doesn't bog the car out. Competition mode wont even let me do a burnout like traction off does. Is this like traction control on but less aggressive for the track?

Hitting the button once only disables the traction control. You should be able to spin the tires pretty easy. Hitting it twice to go into Competitive mode not only adjusts the torque available but it also modifies how intrusive the stabilitrak is. If you want full freedom, hold the button down for 7 seconds.....You'll get the same lights on the dash as Competitive mode but all the nannies will be off. You'll be able to spin and slide at will...but don't be that guy and try it for the first time on the street...you'll end up like a Mustang.

Competition adjusts the stabilitrak to make it less intrusive but doesn't turn it all the way off.

Press button once: traction off, stabilitrak fully on
Press button twice (competitive): traction off, stabilitrak in reduced intervention mode
Press and hold: everything off

Got it. I don't hold it down I just click twice. I cant get better then 4.0 or 4.1 0-60 because the car either spins or if no spin it just cuts the power and bogs. Maybe this will help correct that. Will this notify me all is off after I hold it, or does it do anything at all different?

The reason is because launch control is in competition mode so the car wants to reduce spin as much as possible to launch you the quickest

I'm so happy right now. Can't wait to try turning it all the way off! I've been doing the double tap, but always felt like there was still an electronic nanny lurking in the background. Thanks!

So what mode is the quickest on the street? I feel like turning traction control off on the street just makes the tires spin and you actually go slower.
