Header fitment?

I am looking at the Kooks headers as a mod. The question I have concerns fitment. Do the Kooks headers have the closest fitment to the body? I will be using off road pipes instead of cats.

The Pfadt/AFE tri-y headers tuck up closer than the others but they all are pretty good in that category. The Pfadts headers on the '12-'13 ZL1 will not require you to trim the belly pan cover and some have posted in the past that the Dynatech headers/cats hang a little lower than most.

Thanks RLHMARINES. Have not spoke with you since CAMAROFEST last year. How did the repairs on your car turn out?

I have the Kooks and off road pipes and I have never scraped. Aside from trimming the belly pan, they fit great.

ZL1 TIBS Thanks for the info.
Do you have a photo of the belly pan after trimming it?

Factory mufflers with the Kooks headers produces an excellent sound! Get compliments all the time on how good my ZL1 sounds.

I am sorry but I don't. I probably trimmed more than I needed to and actually reduced the number of bolt holes on the belly pan. I have seen pictures on here of other modified belly pans. You may find them if you search.
I concur with 9020B on the sound with Kooks headers and the stock exhaust. I actually hooked the vacuum line back up to my mufflers as the sound through the closed muffler is sweet. It is a blast to open up the mufflers by romping on it. I send women and children scattering.

I have Kooks 2" headers with ORP. They fit great. I did remove the rubber coupling off the steering linkage for clearance on the drivers side. I left my belly pan cover off!!
