I'm crushed!

I have had my Camaro for 14 months and after 2300 miles my car finally got rained on! Of course as soon as I got home it gave me an excuse to spend the afternoon in the garage detailing it.

Sounds a bit immature - trust me your car has been rained on prior to you getting it as well.

So true. It's not like the cars sit in an enclosed warehouse after being built. They sit out in an open lot until they are loaded on trucks/rail. Here's something else you need know, some of the cars get the piss driven out of them between the assembly line an the staging area.

Enjoy your car and keep it as pristine as you can, but don't sweat the small stuff. IMO, it takes some of the joy out of owning a car like the Camaro.

Mine never got rained on, until I bought it, maybe snowed on. I broke my thing about getting rained on one day after getting stuck in the rain. It's only water. I go out on nice days, but if it rains while I'm out, no big deal. The car actually responds well and feels very safe in the rain.

You're gonna have a heart attack when you find out my Camaro is gonna be rained on and snowed on many times a year. Not to mention it might get some mud on it and probably a little dust too.

Nothing a little Zaino treament can't cure, though.

I look at it this way. When they are 70 years old, some people are going to sit around and tell stories to their grandchildren about the classic muscle car(s) they owned in the past. Do you want to be they guy who has a story that consists of washing/detailing the car and only getting it out on nice days for a quick cruise around the neighborhood, or do you want to be the guy who can tell stories about the time you took your car on a poker run, raced on a road course, took it to the competiton on the street/track, drove it in a driving snowstorm on drag radials, etc.?

I'll take the latter.

Buddy watch the Ultimate Factories Camaro episode...your Camaro has already been rained on for 8 minutes and 7600 gallons of water for the leak test. Probably took it through a machine wash after that. Moral is don't worry about it.

Hard to believe first time it got rained on ... We've had over 12" of rain here in the past week. Both of my cars get wet every time it rains. Also both my Camaros are made by Chevy not Peugeot. My cars are made to be driven in the elements, and actually handle very good when it raining ...

CHEVY ... "Like A Rock"

You live in south Florida and you worry about rain this time of year. LOL come on dude, I cant wash my car without it getting rained on the same day or if I'm lucky I'll make it a day or two. Keep it nice but it sounds like you aren't having nearly as much fun in that car as you should be. 14 months and 2300 ?
