Question for those with muffler delete

How do you like it so far?
Did you do just a muffler delete?
Did you leave the cats and resonators in place?
Did you do straight pipe w/ x-pipe?
Would you do it again?

I'm in dire need of some exhaust work as the stock setup just doesn't do justice to what's under the hood .

What I'm looking for is an audio change, nothing else really, not an HP gain, not a performance gain, simply audio, anything else that comes with it is a bonus.

I'm looking at a couple options

1. Muffler delete, x-pipe, keep stock resonators and cats in place.
2. Cherry Bomb Cat back
3. QTP Cutouts

IMO if your looking for sound the muffler delete is a great option. On an LS3 you can just do a muffler delete and retain the factory h-pipe and resnators. You can also use an x-pipe. On the L99 i recommend an x-pipe in place of the resonated factory one. most guys on here believe you have to spend $$$ on a legit full catback system to make it worth your wild, however i think when it comes to sound and cost you really cant beat the muffler delete.

I did the muffler delete and loved it. Not too loud, but still roars. Cost me 60 bucks at a muffler shop.

Left the resonators and cats in place.

I left the h pipe in, although i would probably do the x pipe if i wasn't going to modify it further.

I would do it again if no LT's are being added. With LT's keep the stock cans on there to eliminate the drone.

Sounds like a good combo to me.

did the muffler delete about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Got a set of Magnaflow 4" tips from Jason at JDP motorsports to go with it. LOVE the sound! It has gotten more smooth since I first got it but it still sounds MEAN. I would do it again 100% if i had the chance. I am a daily city driving college student and am in no way annoyed by the sound. On the highway it is very very quite untill around 80 you start to hear the exhaust. Not drone, but its just a little bit of a more pronounced sound than stock. Dont think I want to replace the factory Hpipe at all. Dont think it will change the sound very much.
Only thing I am DYING to do is get solo high flow cats... I think they would make the exhaust sound even more incredible. But I just dont want to have to deal with warranty issues... Plus my family is in the car business so I never know when the car might sell

I, too, want to do the delete and these comments have helped me decide as well. Thanks to all of you. Can anyone tell me how hard/easy it was to get the muffs off?

You're going to need a sawzall, two jacks, 2.5" exhaust pipe and a MIG welder. Removing the stock mufflers isn't difficult, but lining up the new pipes with the hangers will be challenging if you're doing it by yourself. Get a buddy to help position while you tack weld everything in place. Otherwise you're going to have wall-eyed pike exhaust tips.

I paid a local muffler shop 90 dollars to cut mine off and replace with strait pipe.

I love my muffler delete Especially with the Long Tube Headers......

+1 only mine did it for 60 bucks... even turned the tops to line up a little better with the body.

I had a local muffler shop do my muffler delete, cut off and rewelded the stock tips onto straight pipes. It looks great and is sounds like a Camaro should! I would not hesitate to do it!
