Rear Diffuser removal guide?

Looking for some pictures of a rear diffuser removal, I did a search and saw a couple threads but no pictures. Has anyone seen anything like this?

I don't have pictures but have done it. You remove the 6 screws and then it snaps off. And yes it is a pain to get off. It goes back on easy though.

What is the purpose of the "diffuser" and why do you want to remove it?

For looks and because I am looking into either replacing it with an aftermarket piece or moddifying it myself.

first off, i purchased a new one for for 103.00 so i could still drive car. as far as removal first remove 6 screws on bottom then the fun begins there are tabs that need to be pushed down then pull on diffuser. the first one on each side is easy to reach. from there on you have to wiggle and pull they will eventually all come off. install is easy just push in and install 6 screws......

here is a pic of mine before i painted it

i think flat deep black would look better .

GTO guys did the same thing.....most kept them black but painted them a dark flat black.

though i think the rear diffuser acts as an airbrake. it should be vetilated ...the aftermarket one that are might be worth while...

I am sure I am in the minority, but I actually like the diffuser with its factory color. I actually think it even looks good with the lighter tone vehicles...obviously with my IBM or black it's hardly noticable.
