i just recently purchased a detailing kit from adams that comes with the pc 7424 and was wondering if the porter cable will mess up my stripes on my car

Do not polish the stripes on your car. Mask them off with painter's tape and leave them alone. Don't let the polisher touch them, especially the edges. Wipe them off with something like the waterless wash product that Adam's sells. That is all they really need.

"Mess them up" would be an understatement.

You can wash them and use a synthetic sealant on them like any other portion of the car, but do not use any abrasive polish or a machine on them. (I say sealant and not wax because I have seen some Carnauba's stain the flat black stripes)
