Former GTO Owners- Any Regrets?
To those here who have moved from a 2004-06 GTO to a Camaro, does anyone have any regrets, or things that you liked better about the GTO than the Camaro? I'm considering selling or trading my 04 GTO for a Camaro (an SS if I can afford it), and any input or opinions would be helpful. Thanks

The GTO has it's advantages over the Camaro. More rear seat room, better feeling front seats, overall leather quality, instrument look/legibility, rarity on the road, and real hood scoops, among others.
My 05 GTO was almost as fast as my Camaro, with a much lower acquisition cost. Let's face it........ we like the new generation Camaro mostly for the looks! It can be seen in the sales volume over the GTO. The GTO is a great car anyway!! I'm glad I had one, and a Camaro. |

Owned an 06 Brazin. Nice color and decent HP but lacks all looks.

The new GTO was not a GTO.
Sports cars ARE NOT supposed to be 4-Door Granny Cars and look like a Grand Am!!! |

I have said it a few times. Had my 06 GTO not been totaled I would still be in it. I think I'm one of the few that loved my GTO and I only like my Camaro. Camaro has the looks but the GTO was a better / comfortable long drive ride. Its whats on the inside that counts and the GTO has a whole lot better interior. The Camaro is a great car but to me the GTO was / is superior. Took me a few weeks after taking my camaro to notice it. Didnt want to take a loss or buy a used GTO. So keeping the camaro.

It may not look all that great, but its actually a great car. But to the O.P., there's lots of former GTO owners in this forum. But for many reasons the Camaro is a better car. The Camaro has a better suspension setup, stronger/better tranmission, better/bigger/wider wheel and tire options, and especially its looks. The Camaro will never be accused of being boring. |

The G8 Gt has 4 doors not the GTO but the G8 Gt 4 door granny car as you call it is a 13 second 1/4 mile family car. The G8 GT will give our beloved Camaro everything it can handle |

The Camaro SS's suspension is a lot stiffer (for improved handling) and the seats aren't as soft. So the Camaro ride isn't as nice. The GTO's ride is more similar to a luxury sedan (Lexus, etc). |
