For those of you that had model rockets as kids, similar idea with the ni-chrome wire used to ignite the solid rocket fuel.

It's just a light. You hit the stalk button once when you turn the car on and the error message goes away. I drive around all the time with the service airbag light on when my Kirkey's are installed. NBD.

I deleted all the airbags, as I have a full cage.
I was told by my local chevy service tech that there is a "short" when the airbag is not installed, so if some crazy person wires a battery to the airbag, it won't explode. He believes the resistance was 3-4 ohms. We did pull the fuse for the airbag circuit, and I push the reset button after starting the car (3 times - LOL) 1 for airbag, 1 for traction/AH, 1 for ??? (Can't remember the last one). Not a big deal. No re-occuring messages other than after starting, and I only have to clear them the 1 time. |

Another vote for the Kirky FOR TRACK USE.
Not a fun seat to get in or out of. Mine is mounted to the cage. It can lower your head about 6" if you configure it right. When bolted to the cage, it's not adjustable obviously, so do a lot testing and fitment, and do not be afraid to try more than one angle or model.

Going to be eventually doing some road course action and autox here. I hear the 1le recaros will be available through Chevrolet, youd pay a premium of course but they should hook right up. However if for some reason what i'm hearing is wrong id love to get a set of corbeau forza sports installed with no service lights and no weight sensor issues. I'd like my front airbags to still go off in case of an accident on the street that way the insurers shouldnt raise an eyebrow. Anyone have any info yet? seems like its hard to get race seats installed without ripping out all the airbags

Guys, one comment on racing seats- just make sure it fits your body, doesn't cause lower back pain, squeeze you too tight or scrunch your shoulders uncomfortably. I've had friends that purchased seats sight-unseen and they ache every time they get in them. Best thing to do is to try a bunch of seats at a dealer to ensure they fit you correctly.
I had my heart set on a certain model seat, but went and sat in one and thought no way! I ended up purchasing a Sparco Evo for the driver's seat (I'm slender) and an Evo II for passenger (medium sized) for passenger. Very, very comfortable, even for my 6 hour drive to and from Willow Springs Raceway. Comfort and proper support is probably the most important feature, next to safety of course (ability to accept a 6 point harness). I'm also a fan of fixed, rather than reclining, as they're stronger in the event of a really hard crash.

Thanks! I drive it to and from the track, but these days it's mostly a track car. I'll take it to work once in a while or to a friend's house, but I have another car for daily driving. I don't have a rear seat as that space has been replaced by a roll bar, so these seats are not ideal for those that want to retain back seats. Other than that and the issue with airbags, the seats and the rest of the car are very streetable. They work with my factory 3 point as well as the 6 point harness, and are mounted on Sparco brackets and sliders.

It was custom, done by Tracklogic Motorsports in Rocklin, CA. They did a clean job, it was welded and powdercoated then welded into the car.
