Rear wheels locked up in wrecked 2010

I am going to pick up a camaro I bought the middle of next week, the rear wheels are locked up so that makes it difficult to load because I don't have go jacks, I am assuming that I can drop the drive shaft and they will move freely, any input on whether or not this would be the case? (the front of the car took the damage from the firewall forward, but it is stuck in park) also what all is involved in dropping the drive shaft if that is in fact the best way to go?

Well, you will have to start with the removal of the exhaust to get to the driveshaft. I do know that much.

If it is possibl to get under it at all, can you disconnect the shift linkage and manually put the transmission in gear?

put 12 volts to the park interlock relay and you can then put it in neutral, or disconnect the battery you should be able to put it into neutral then....

It sounds like you may be correct in that the interlock is not powered, if you cannot power it up because of fear of a short or fire you can mechanically overide it from the passenger side consol skirt.

can you elaborate on how to do this? the power was cut by the fire dept after the wreck at the battery and since I don't have the car in front of me until it is time to put it on the flatbed I can't experiment

Pull the passenger side console cover loose at the front. Remove the cover from the manual release (it's held on by one screw). This will access the manual release. Push the manual release toward the rear and it will allow you to shift out of park. If the shifter is placed back into park position, it will lock again.
This info is in the owner's manual.

Nah I am picking this one up for Research and to transplant all of the interior options into the LS for the wife, Layla will be all hers once the "HP" edition comes out, think I am going to continue to buy these though if I can get them for the same kind of price I did this one (doubtful) it's perfectly good from the firewall back except the frame and I got it for 3800 with ALL options
