Passed 5000 today. Tomorrow, I'll hit the track, weather permitting, to test out my tune from John @ APF. I'll also try out the test wires. I expect it will be another 90* day, but bettter than sitting at home when I have a free afternoon. Padre

Well, I gave it the old college try.
Turned around halfway. These storms pop up pretty quick from cloudless skies. I pulled over for the worst of it, with my drag radials on and all. Plus, I was worried about the CAI, which sits rather low. Ah well, there's always next week. Padre |

Where you able to dyno your car with and without the new wires? You also mention a new tune. Did you also dyno your car for the new tune? I'm wanting to see how much rwhp the wires make all by themselves (minus a new tune). |

12.704 best Et
108.87 best MPH 1.838 best 60 The new wires? 2 runs stock. 2 runs new. Avg mph stock = 107.26 Avg mph new = 108.80 However, IATs were 15* cooler on the runs with the new wires. I would say though, that the new wires were good for a solid, noticeable 1mph. Solid construction, so they're keepers . Bristol was fun, but more fun socializing. Street night, poor track prep. Plus Bristol is 1500' altitude, so everyone ran much slower. |

Ok I ran the numbers through the HP Calculator I've been using for my other comparisons.
Before and after the wires, I gained 6.4 HP. A difference of 0.7 MPH. All else was as equal as I could get it: corrected for DA, 60-foots within 0.03 (spinning on the line means higher trap speeds), similar back-up runs (night was traction limited, but I felt comfortable with the comparison runs). OK, here's the rundown on my Bristol Dragway trip, Bristol Tennessee.
Elevation 1596 feet. DA for my first run, 3464 feet. For the last run, 2783 feet. Given the circumstances: Street Night with poor track prep, high elevation and high DA, tonight was mainly about drag racing. Not about setting a record, but about crossing the line first against the guy/gal in the next lane. So it was fun. Beautiful day in the South, especialy for drag racing in the evening. So I loaded up the rig, told my assistant to guard the fort, and headed off with the puppies for a night away. Arrived at Bristol after a leisurely drive of 4.5 hours. Nice facility all around and pretty well organized. I lined up for my first run against an 80's something Mustang that didn't make it halfway down the track. Met lots of great folks. On a crowded Street Night, you have plenty of time to meet fellow racers. This is Tom and his Lexus IS, 417hp and DRs. Was trapping over 110. On our race, I caught him spinning and pulled out the win, but that 5.0L Toyota motor is pretty formidable. Tom has quite a stable of very clean, fast cars. Another Camaro. None modded like mine. The SS's I saw were running high 13's, low 14's. But hey, everybody was running 3-5 tenths slower than a good track. Next up against a new 5.0 Mustang. Got (her?) by almost a second. Another Camaro V6 Synergy. He was racing all night, but didn't see his times. This would have been a perfect shot were it not for the glare. Crowded. That's me way in the back in front of a beat-up orange truck. Then there was, pardon me, this idiot. Some Monster Truck wanted to set a trap-speed record at the drag strip. Was shooting for 100mph and ended up with 75. Tore up the track, spun the whole way, almost went over the concrete barrier. We seriously thought he was going to lose it. I titled this shot, "Redneck Heaven." Best real drag race of the night was a modified '87 Grand National. Don't know the mods, but he took me through the 1/8th, then I reeled him in on the big end with an 0.0206 win. The puppies and I made a night of it camping out and I got home today. I would make the trip again if the track were prepped better or if they had a DR-only night. Padre

Just wondering I'd you think the underdrive pulley is worth it?
Here's my plans: Pulley High flow solo midpipes/cats And a 2600-2800 converter And I'll probably need drag radials then.
