Engine Swap

Hi everyone, Noob here with a question.
I am a pretty decent wrench turner and have an FAA airframe and power plant certificate so I'm no slouch when it comes to repairing machines.
I bought this car for my son as a first ride.It is a 95 3.4L automatic camaro that has a blown head gasket. We haven't started on the project yet and I wanted some opinions first.
The car and current engine have about 150k miles but the paint and interior are still very nice so it's worth repairing. I got a steal of a deal on a 2006 3.5L impala engine with only 20k miles on it that I can install in place of the 3.4L . I know of course the intake and exhaust manifolds will have to be swapped. From what I can see in the differences I'm gonna have difficulties with the reverse cooling flow on the impala engine compared to the original 95 engine. I'm sure I can get some hoses to fit to the radiator but I'm not so sure about getting all of the accessories back on in their original positions. Is this something that can be done without throwing a wad of cash at or should I just fix the motor that's in there and leave it at that?
Does anyone have experience with the new style engines?

i don't have a lot of experience with engine swaps, but it sounds like it would be much easier to use another engine that's already set up for a RWD application
