Questions on grille/license plate bracket removal

Whats the best way to remove the grille onan 01? I don't really want to do the whole pull really hard method. The reason I want to do this is because I wanted to take the front license plate bracket off, for a cleaner look. But when I go to unscrew the 3 bolts or whatever that holds it on all they do is spin forever. Any ideas would greatly help. After I get the license plate holder off I want to put some camaro insert there in its place. Thanks
Derek

check to see if there is a nut on the other side of the bolt. if not then use a flat head screw driver under the head of the bolt and pry on it a little as you loosen it and the threads should catch.

So you just want to remove the license plate bracket off the stock grille? The pulling hard method might be your only option but im not sure. Either way though, your going to be left with holes in your grille thanks to the license plate bracket.

Have you thought about putting a billet grille on there? You can find them cheap on ebay.

K ill have to check. I tried the screw driver under the head of the bolt and got nothing lol, thats why I'm kind of confused I guess lol.

Post up pics if you can, i cant remember but i almost want to say that the license plate frame is held on to the grille by rivets.

I think you might be right about the rivets, I did tug on the license plate holder a little bit and and felt like there was rivets back there if that makes any sense

Yea that's what i thought. If your willing to fill the holes, sand & paint the grille. I would just pull it off and do that.

Yea I might just end up doing that . I like the billet grilles (+ they are cheap) but I think I would like the look of inserting the camaro lettering up front too. If I would do the billet grille, are they easy to install? As you can prob tell, I have never done this before lol

The License plate bracket IS held on by rivets. I just installed my billet grille the other day, aside from the painful act of drilling into my baby it was not hard at all. took maybe 15 minutes tops.

So lets say i wanted to keep the factory grille but take the license plate bracket off, I know I will have 3 holes in the grille. Now my question is what could I use to fill the holes in the plastic grille? I know it would have to be sanded down and repainted black. Thanks

I read a write-up on that somewhere.. thought it was ls1tech but I couldn't find it. I think it said just to fill it with some sort of filler putty then paint the entire bumper. the wholes aren't very big. My grille is laying around my garage somewhere still

EDIT:
Found that write-up
