Kooks Headers Installed - Dyno Sheet
Speed Inc. in Schaumburg Ill. installed Kooks 1 7/8 long tube headers, high flow cats and did a custom tune on my car 3 weeks ago today. I already had a C.A.I. cold air induction system and an MBRP exhaust on my car. At first when I saw the dyno numbers I was a little disappointed, but on the way home I thought about them and started to think they were really not to bad. It was around 88 degrees and very humid that day which could have kept them down a bit. I picked up 33.42 rwhp and now have 353.12 rwhp. After driving it now for 3 weeks and being able to get on a few back roads I have to say I am very impressed with the changes. Not only is AFM gone (and I won't miss it) and the additional hp, but the change in the transmission is fantastic. I now even drive the car in normal automatic mode a little bit, the car has a nice deep rumble and sounds fantastic when you get on it. My only complaint is there is a little bit of a hum in the cabin when on the highway. I don't mind it much but the wife does not like it at all.
Below is my dyno sheet, let me know what you think. Let me know if my numbers are in the ballpark, or if I should have a little more. Either way I am very happy. |

My L99 was at 365 rwhp when it has intake, headers, exhaust, and a tune. Your numbers sound about right for the temp.
The tune made the car a lot more responsive though. |

L99's stock are in the 320 range. Your numbers are good.

My numbers are a bit higher but I got my tune back in March when the temps were 40 degrees. I have same headers with HF cats, Borla sport catback and Rotofab intake. What a difference it made!

Thanks guys, Like I said after I thought about it and got a chance to get on it a little my butt dyno loved it. I do have some advice to anyone getting Kooks Headers installed. When you do, also get the cam put in right away. My plans were to get a cam in about a year. But now my wife is telling me NO, because she does not like how much faster it is. I should have done it all at once, HAHAHAHA Really I am not to worried. I have a whole year to talk her into it. Damn I Love This Car.............

Would you consider a vvt cam or an LS3 conversion with a standard cam? Speedinc recommended me the LS3 conversion since the vvt cam was not reliable.

LS3 conversion all the way! Those stock L99 lifters are bad news. I was very happy to be rid of mine. Also, keeping those L99 lifters really limits which cam you can get.
I got the LS3 conversion with my 3-bolt cam. My car is a monster now (in a good way!). |
