Amp install in battery/spare tire area?

I'm looking for a place to install my amp (JL HD 900/5). I want to keep it hidden and the stock location looks a little too tight for fitting all the wiring. I was thinking about installing the amp in front of the battery. See my picture below to get an idea what I mean. Any reasons this wouldn't work?

The two things I can see being a concern are air flow and electromagnetic interference with the battery and cables near the amp.

The compartment is fairly large so I'm thinking I should be OK with air flow and if I have noise problems I can get some EMI tape to cover the wires.

My plan is to make a mount for it so it doesn't move. I was just showing how I'm going to position it.

I tried this once. You'll find out quickly that it will shut down from lack of airflow. It doesn't matter that you have space, the air in that confined space will heat up quickly.

A bazooka, an mtx, a Sony and a dual. Try it if you don't believe me. It may get away with it running a light load, like highs....but if your running bass and the amp gets warm...it will shut down. Maybe not right away, but eventually. And on a hot summer day, it'll be worse. Btw, I professionally installed car audio for over a decade and I'm mecp certified. So I'm saying this from lots of experience.

Just put my amp in that exact space today. Add me to the "try it and see" list. So far so good. It was 101° here today.

it definitely will get hot I burned up a sony xplod amp one time with lack out air and the only reason I found out is when I was looking in the back seat of my car for a cd and smoke was coming out behind the seat.

I dont think you will have any issues with that HD amp. I can see other brand amps that are not class d shutting down, but those amps running pretty cool.

I know the battery has a vent tube but if it leaks hydrogen gas into the unvented space and you add a heat generating device. You do the math.

Had mine there for awhile, wasn't comfortable with the lack of air flow, went with the ******** passenger side mount.
