co-worker says he has 500hp to engine with basic bolt on upgrades?

A co-worker who also has a Camaro SS LS3 says that he plans to get his car dynoed but expects to get 500hp to the crank. Now I know a lot of people don't really care about crank numbers, but what do you think? I'm not sure but he may be close.

His mods are:
Janetty Racing tune for 93 octane
Cold Air inductions intake with some race scoop?
Ported throttle body
Borla s catback
Solo high flow catalytic converters

He'd probably be around 390-400whp. Which would not be 500hp at the crank.

The LS3 has 426 horse stock. How would he get 390 - 400?

Also think he's going to be a bit off. For reference, our '10 LS3 with CAI intake, Kooks LTs, hi flow cats and a tune did 423 RWHP... which is getting close to 500 crank, but he's minus the headers and plus a cat-back if I'm reading right. I'd agree with PoorMan's. Probably somewhere around 400 RWHP, so not quite at that 500 crank.

Of course if he goes on an old DynoJet, it's game on

Crank HP VS RWHP.

whp = wheel horsepower. 426 is crank.

Depends on which HP rating you mean. I'm guessing the 60S version of the definition would be close to 500 if not over.

For the mods listed by the OP, I'd venture a guess of 460-470 at the crank.
