Not going to happen

Kind of feel sorry for some of these guys that are trying to sell 2010 1ss non RS, for 30k. Its not going to happen. There are a ton hitting the used car market, and they all think they are going to get 30k for a used 1ss with 20k miles. Hell you can get a 2011 off the lot for 2k under invoice.

Im afraid that lots of folks bought the 2010 and paid invoice or higher, now stuck with a car they cant afford and owe more than its worth. If its been on the market for 2-3 months, you might need to lower the price.

Not trying to be a dick here, but what point are you trying to make with this thread? Is the purpose behind your post simply to insult and put down other members? I'm a big fan of buying used parts and so I'm just going to give my two cents here, take it or leave it. When people buy things used, they haggle. So it'd be poor business practice to set the price to something really low. Yes that's what they are selling for, but even if you priced your used SS at $20,000; somebody would come in and offer you $18,500. That's just how it works. So having your starting price a little higher than what they actually sell for is smart. That way when the buyer low balls you, you don't lose a ton of money and are able to negotiate a price that you and he can agree with.

I can see the OP's point: start with a realistic price. I see it on ebay a lot, and a lot of them aren't interested in real negotiations - they just expect top dollar.

At least trick the buyer's eye a bit with a price 1 dollar under what you are asking such as $29,999 for $30k, or $19,999 for $20k. It's worked for me

I'm right there with you. Who would buy used when for a couple grand more you can buy new! I see it everyday on here.

I was going to buy used and try to save a few thousand bucks, but after looking around a bit I found I could get a new one for just a few bucks more. Plus my wife loves that new car smell!

I do agree though that some of the prices are listed way too high compared to the market for a used car with over 10K miles, especially with new 2011's sitting on the lot with 12's starting to show up.

I do feel sorry for those folks in a pinch, and I agree that the market is a tough sell right now...but I have to ask the OP if he enjoys poking a hornets nest with his tongue?

That's the way I read it, the OP is in the market for a used car and is upset for the asking price of used Camaros...

OP you are spot on. I was looking at some used Camaros and the price people were asking was just insane. I just ordered a new 2012 because it didn't seem worth it to buy a used one.

I think you are right, people went nuts when this car came out and paid way over sticker. Dumb move on their part, it's just a Camaro. Now they are hoping to recoup their loss.
