If the cost of repaint/fix is worth more than the car then they will just total the car and give you what the car is worth.

Big question is, are they going to repaint the whole car, or just the outside. Reason I ask is because if they don't do the engine bay, door jambs, etc, then it might look weird with a different color.
With the damage he has INSIDE the trunk they gonna have to strip it to the frame and paint repaint everthing to make it look right. Outside damage sure but not to that extent. And i respect your option and re reading it your partly right i over reacted

I'm thinking the insurance wants estimates on the cost. If it ends up being more than what the car is worth, then they'll just cut him a check and total the car.

That might have worked sides the fact there is no blood or fur/hair on the car. I seen plenty of deer hit cars and trust me its ease to spot. I seen people graze a deer get a dent or something but still ALOT of hair/fur lol

The insurance company only sees that you wrecked your car by yourself and assumes you lost control by not driving at a safe enough speed to avoid crashing. There is zero proof of any deer involved.
