Smile First oil change?

My first oil change is due soon. Wondering if i should take it to the dealer and pay 75 bucks for them to to it or take to a regular shop and pay half of that. Also what is the best oil to use? Thanks in advance..

75 bucks is about par. The SS takes 8-9 quarts of Mobil 1, and it's not cheap.

Mobile 1 synthetic...DIY. You will need an oil filter wrench, and an oil collection apparatus.

Take it to the dealer for the first oil change. This gives you a service baseline in the event you need warranty work.
After that, DIY and save your receipts.

I'm thinking on taking it in not only for the service baseline, but also to get the filter off for the first time. Sometimes it's hard to pop that cherry!

Even though they never mentioned anything to me when I purchased the car, I asked about a free oil change when I took it in for the first one and they agreed. It never hurts to ask.

The trick is to make sure the engine is hot. With a good filter wrench it will come off fine. People run into problems DIYing it when they try to take the filter off cold. When cold it will be stuck on there with a death grip.

Why not do it yourself? I have never had a "shop" oil change in all my years of owning a car. It's no big deal, takes me about 15 minutes tops
