I did the tranny at 168k and the engine as well. The engine wasn't dead yet, but I just replaced it cause it seemed to be tired. Started driving it in high school and 12 years later its still going strong. I did repaint it as the South Dakota winter and Arizona sun wreaked havoc after all those years. It gets new wheels in two weeks and my "driver" restoration will be almost complete!

My current 86 Camaro Berlinetta was my first car. I plan on having it for quite a while(hopefully forever). I just put Hobbyist plates on it too! The lady at the DMV asked if i planned on having it for a while, and i said with absolute certainty, YES. When i was looking for my first car, i wasnt going to accept anything other than a camaro. I loved chevy in general, but I felt like if i got something else, i would be wasting my money on something i didnt want as much. It was difficult to find a camaro in my budget, cause i had about $650, but i found mine and talked the guy down to $550! And thus, Betty White (its name) was brought home! Im in the begginning stages of what will be a VERY long restoration process, considering how much needs to be replaced or fixed lol. The restoration has come to be known as Operation: Starship Camaro (from the old Berlinetta ads), and its nickname is The Millenium Falcon. Haha I love my car, and even if the restoration doesnt work out, im still keeping it! I also have a 92 S10 Blazer (Its name is Mt. T, cuz of the "mohawk" stripe and the "sideburn" stripes! ) for winter and bad weather. Even though its basically a peice of crap (A/C doesnt work, rear defrost doesnt work, major oil and tranny fluid leaks, both front door latches are messed up, i have to get in the passenger side cuz i cant open the DS door, and the exhaust system is messed up, so i have to drive with windows down or ill die lol), I still love it! Ive done a lot of basic mods to it (spraypaint, push bar, lights, stickers etc), and its got about 180xxx mi, so even if i wanted to sell it, id get almost nothing lol. But i dont! I love chevy, always will! I love GM in general, but about 90% of my "dream cars" are chevys, so there you go!!

1989 Chevy Caprice....took it to the paint shop a few months after i bought it and painted almost identical to the synergy green. Fell in love with the caprices/impalas...at one time in the past year i had 4 of them sitting in my driveway

1954 Chevy Bel Air

My first car was a 1954 Chevy BelAir, seafoam green, post model just like this one. Boy did I ruin a bunch of transmissions on that car. At the time, you could buy a used one from the junkyard for $25 and it took a whole hour to remove and replace. I'd give anything to have that car back!!!

I've been a German car guy my whole life until it came to the Camaro. I've owned a 03' GTI, 83' Rabbit, 69' KG, and 66' KG. I have sold the 03' GTI a few months ago and the 83' Rabbit last week. I just can't let go of either of the KGs. Something about a completely mechanical dual carb car where the complete wiring of the car can be laid out on one sheet of paper with no power steering, no power brakes, and no AC just does it for me. A REAL driving experience.

But one day on my way to work, I saw a blacked out Camaro at an intersection and immediately said, "I NEED ONE!". I started shopping and a month later, got my Camaro. Have not regretted it since!

this is my first chevy. and my first american car. we have this stereotype mentality that american cars doesnt have quality. and its not reliable. but when i saw "the fast and the furious" movie i started liking a muscle cars. and then the time comes when i am ready to own one. im kinda leaning towards the challenger back then. but thanks for the "transformers" movie for introducing the 5th gen camaro. (mustang is out of my list. its played out). my families dislike the idea of me getting american car but i still went ahead and get it.

no regret!im enjoying the v8 sound and plus a compliment even from the police!

1977 Chevrolet 3/4 tn. 350 cc, quadrajet carb, hydramatic 400 tranz.
It was my first vehicle, drove it from 1985 til 1996. Sold it for extra cash. I made a nice profit on the sale.

My first car/Chevy was a 1969 Camaro paid $500.00 for it back in 1983 green w/white interior. Lady (Sandra) I bought it from got it from her father who bought it new in 69. Stored it left for basic training used all the money I made in basic to restore it. Rebuilt Engine, repaired rust and repainted it Candy Apple Red. Sold it a year later to help out my family wish I still had it today . See if I can find the old Polaroid and scan them in tonight. (I remember her first and last name and I also still have the original plates form it and the original registration) wish I could find one today and do it all over again except the selling part )
