Hurst STS installed in '12 vert

hey guys finally installed my xmas present =] hurst short throw shifter with black knob and also installed the skip shift eliminator. the installation was a pain in the a$$! the worst idea was doing it on jacks rather than bring it too a lift, the second worst idea was doing it outside in 30 degree weather, and lastly the last issue was fitting my big hands all the way up into the shifter to remove the stock. i can say my hands and my friends hands are all cut up, even got my sister to go under to reinstall the rubber boot, because it fell off. other than all those negative factors the car drives awesome, shifts are a lot shorter than factory hurst throws. and i am very happy with the out come. here are some pictures of the installation.

The first one I did took an hour, now I can do them in 30 minutes. I used a lift every time, would hate to do it on the ground. It must have been a total pain in the ass to do it on the floor. Congrats on the Hurst, I really like mine in both my cars.

yeah man a pain indeed, arms and hands are all scratched up, also the convertibles have alot more extra braces underneeth so it gave you even less room to fit your hands and what not, but definitely worth it, shifts are awesome!

Though I agree doing something (like this) yourself can seem like a nightmare, it's cool that you completed the project. Congrats.

It's fun to say "I installed that".

+1

I was cursing at times when I did my MGW Shifter, but it felt great in the end. Also very cool when people ride and recognize the shifter isn't stock I can tell them I did it!

Any noticeable vibration, when I put this in in my 2010 coupe in 2/2010 I was getting some awful vibration at WOT. I ended up going with the Barton instead and ended up putting this on my 2011 vert.

thats just boxing gloves with the dominican flag on it, my g-ma gave them to me for good luck a while back, had them on all my cars so far, definitely brings good luck. the reason why there gloves is because ive trained mma for 6 years now, i love it.

I got the same shifter for Christmas but unfortunately my car is in storage for winter. I can't wait to put this in though. Did you use the anti vibration, sound deadener kit? I keep looking at the directions but can't really even tell where the dynamat goes???

Good observation there lol it actually happened at a steep driveway. To this day I regret going to that persons house lol what can you do? Cars meant to be driven and enjoyed, I admire keeping it nice but why pay all that money for it if you stress yourself out with little scratches.
