HOWEVER...that also depends on the dyno...so maybe you should make a pull stock, THEN set your goal of X% higher than stock on the same dyno...your car puts down the same power as any other stock LS3 Camaro...but what the dyno near your house tells you that power is, may differ than the ones I've had my car on, and that everyone else has had their cars on too...yours might read lower, it might read higher...target a % gain, and you won't be unhappy with the results when you modify it.

Why don't you set a budget for yourself and craft your mods around that budget?
If you don't, you're going to spend way beyond what you think. Take that budget to your builder and trust that he'll put together the most power for that specified amount of money. |

I wasn't looking to get to a #... just to go fast Mods in my sig = 459rwhp, 449rwtq on a Mustang Dyno. Will definitely be over 500 on both on a DynoJet. Good luck

I think you need to decide how much you want to spend first. Then talk to you builder to see what is the best way to go.
I would not install a cam unless you do CAI and headders, with or with out cats, at the same time. you can do the headders and CAI now though and just wait to tune it till you have a cam installed. With what youe spending a 2300 maggie would put you over the mark you re setting.. still have to have the headders and tune though..... |

I don't agree...maybe on the dyno's near you...but my car was within 8 HP on a local Mustang Dyno and a Dynojet.

Dont forget that its not just about peak rwhp. A lower rwhp car can still be faster if it has a better torque and hp curve
I agree. Theres no way a 459rwhp car will make 500 on a different dyno unless the smoothing setting are changed to munipulate the numbers. Dynos are a tuning tool. |

And before you get ur panties in a bunch, I could care less about the #'s. We all know the dyno is a tool. And I did say "most" Mustang dynos, not all.

I just want to say THANK YOU!! to all the camaro 5 guys when I started this thread. I have learn so much from this and I hope others as well... I am going to start saving money, while figuring out my best route and doing my body mods. I am leaning towards a CAM, Headers, High flow CATS, Exhaust cat back, and then a pro charger someday but its like 10,000$ alone!!

Agreed. I assume(using the term loosely) From the statements regarding dyno % differences, that my 459rwhp would be over 500 because 459+10%=504.9. There must be something to this if soo many people on LS1tech had huge gains just by using a different type of dyno. I have never put my car on a dynojet(cuz again I just dont care) But if anyone here would like to post slips form different pulls showing the same #'s I will gladly retract my statement with a full apology.

To the OP. Why not just go full bolt-ons for now and enjoy the speed upgrade? With 400+ rwhp and DRs you can run low 12s and not break anything if you are careful. Also keep in mind at that HP level you will be needing suspension mods to keep everything under control. Once you get used to that and want more, go cam and heads to get yourself close to 500 rwhp. At that HP level you better get yourself some axles to keep away from the tow truck with sticky tires. Don't rush it. You can have a lot of fun along the way. If that is still not enough FI can get you where you need to go. Bring your checkbook.
To those with cam and heads. How is the drivability of your car? Still a good daily driver? Or will a lightly cammed SS become just a weekend warrior?

I have the G6x3 cam from LG, which would be classified as a nasty stage 3 cam. I use this as a daily driver and wouldnt have it any other way. If ur ever in south Florida I would give u a ride.........
