Transmission tuning

I am having an issue with my transmission shifting outside of my power band's it's shift on the down side of the power band. When I racing I am loosing power where it is like a bog when it shifts. I need the car to shift at about 5800 and it shifting at 6100 ish. No matter what I do I cannot get it to shift at the top of my band. Usually it happens usually when I hit third gear. I have done a l99 to ls3 conversion, Heads are ported and polished, with a pretty big cam. trans cooler, cold air intake, headers, 3 inch exhaust, 373 rear 4200 stall, rear suspension is all redone, running an 18 inch drag radials. I have tuned the trans shift points but it still not shifting right. It was hitting off of the limiter but that's gone. I also find myself launching the car at about 1500 off of the line lock. I would like launch a little higher. any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am using EFI Live to tune the car.

Will the car only rev to 1500rpm or can you get it higher with throttle? When you say you tuned the trans shift points, Im assuming this is thru EFI live?

Do you have a dyno graph to look at the power curve to determine your shift points?

Yes I can get the rev higher but it doesn't leave well the shifting is a problem from first to second. but if we leave at 1500 all is well. not a recent one

What is the problem from first to second? You should be able to leave alot higher than 1500rpm.

6100rpm should be about right with shift points as you want the trans to shift at around 100-200rpm past peak hp to stay on top of the power curve.

You might want to give Circle D Transmission a call, ask for Glenn the service manager 1-713-895-7019. They wrote a tune for my 6l80e that I am very happy with, they have a 2010SS that they are using for a test mule and have a lot of up-graded parts for.
