There are lots of loan payment calculators out there, you can find out that way.

I will make up the interest I pay over the five year loan in other ways. It is only $2400 in interest (or so)

I got GMS pricing on all options and the car and qualify for the stimulus car sales tax rebate. That right there is $5200 in savings off the top. So...even IF I was to pay cash, I am only losing (but not really) $2400 in the finance charges but gained $2800 in the GMS employee price and tax credit.

I will have the Camaro paid off in 30-32 months anyhow...which will reduce the finance charge greatly. I have the money to pay cash, but would rather have $30k in the bank in case something happens.

that's an ass backwards way of looking at it.

when your financing... your not buying the car, your paying someone to buy the car for you and let you drive it.

so if you can afford the finance payments, then you can afford the process of someone else paying for your car.

going by the rule of thumb that your purchase power is directly related to your bank account balance means you'll be renting an apt for the rest of your life in 90% of areas.

That's not the OUT-THE-DOOR price... that's MSRP. There's sales tax, and licensing and all that other BS.

Well I hate having payments and owing money, have been putting away money since the concept in 06'. If they had 0% again i would go that route like i did with my daily car. This is just my way of doin things, ive invested the money i was puting aside for this and have made money over that til now so, net return has been around 12-13% on my investments. So 3800 or so has been in gains over the last 3 years, i feel pretty good overall with this plan, others will work also

$0.00

Why?

My Exploder costs me nothing, it's been paid for, and will fetch me maybe $3.00 Trade in. So I couldn't afford one until maybe the end of this year. However, I could throw my hat into the Area 51 ring for a year until it magically pops up at the dealership (meaning bigger DP).

Though, in the end, being a college student makes the whole ownership thing feel like a pipe dream; and money as a concept seems more and more foreign by the day.
