New SLP TVS 2300

Got a chance to check out the install of the new SLP TVS 2300. No rear belt, more efficient. Some more stuff on their web sites. Looks nice.

They are both very nice and very different superchargers!
I love the new design due to ease of installation. It shocked me that >I< could actually do 100% of the installation, alone, with the SLP version.

I had the waffle version on my car (before the procharger came), so I do love that as well. As well as the cog whine! I love love love cog whine.

You can't go wrong with either...

Started my install today

Have to pause as I wait for SLP to send me a DOD plate. There are apparently two different types used by GM and the SLP TVS 2300 only works with one. Got almost as far as I could today (intercooler and pump installed, manifold off, etc), hope to do the rest on Saturday. Progress pic below.

The thing that really surprised me is that you don't have to pin the crank. So, don't have to take off the balancer bolt, drill, etc.

Close to done

Gotta reattach the fuel line, fill the intercooler, attach the belt, install the voltage booster, and figure out the tune and then I'm ready to go!

And then in a few days when the replacement heater hoses show up, get rid of the damned OEM hoses. Boy are they in the way.

No pinning the crank huh? I guess they will be limited to low/moderate boost?

Yeah, not pinning the crank would be a mistake. That's just asking for trouble...

Either that, or the new design requires less force to operate.

But I am not looking for a monster build here, just looking for enough HP so I don't get left in the dust by every Corvette on the track when I come out of the corners.

Checked with SLP. Yeah, if I want to go boost over 8.5 lbs, they suggest pinning the crank. But I'll be fine <=8.5 lbs for now. Not looking to set any records, but am looking forward to a whole lot more kick!

Yeah,When I checked with Harrop that's exactly what they said.

No real need to pin the crank if boost is kept below 8.5 pounds. The absence of the external jack shaft puts much less load on the crank and the belt would slip before the crank pulley ever could.

I like the clean new look that is similar to the Harrop unit.
