Every forum has members that can be douches. People get brand loyal and just trash talk other brands. Obviously most of us here like camaros etc but a lot appreciate others like the mustang. American muscle. :-)

The few times I have driven a Z06 I was very impressed with the LS7. The power band is incredibly and it is pretty bad ass. I was always under the impression the LS7 was too expensive to build and put in a camaro. If they do put it in a version of the camaro it will be pretty sweet. Also keep in mind there are a bunch of engine builders that hand build these engines and currently do no have a car to put it in. My bet is the rumors are true. Once the C7 Z06 comes out the 5th Gen camaro will probably be done and they can focus on the next LT7 or whatever they call it.

If money is no problem, you should wait. I find it very unlikely that you will get a ls7 Camaro for the price of an ss. The SS is still a solid performer and should still represent a good value when and if you see a ls7.

If you do wait, then you might as well wait for gen 6 as it has potential too. But when do you just give up on waiting for the best and make the one you end up with competitive? After warranty I hope to super charge, which should keep the SS in the game. Of course anyone out there with more money can out perform you.

According to the VIN decoder it appears that the LS7 will be an available option for 2014 but there is not a new trim level listed (still just LS, LT, SS, ZL1). No one knows exactly how it will be packaged. My guess is that it will only be available along with the 1LE package so we will probably be looking at a starting price around $45,000.

Wonder what styling cues GM would give it... cant imagine every z28 to have a black ho hood AND black roof.

Ya watch, you may be right, the LS7 will be a performance add on to the SS, and then in 2015 for the last year they will call it a Z28!!!!!! WHy cant they just call it a Z28 in 2014

Interesting I would not expect this to be the Z28 though because historically the SS has had more hp than the Z28.

Not originally.

The Super Sport had a big block and was about 295hp and had upgraded suspension. I guess it was more of a consumer street rod.

From what I've been able to find on the Etherblagz, the Z/28 package came about for Trans/Am racing and rated 390hp with its own unique suspension.

The ZL1 was originally an engine, and then a Camaro model in 1969 that never went into production until recently.

I think all signs point to the Z/28 being sub-$50K with some sort of unique suspension configuration. I think they'll definitely fill that price point. The LS7 does make sense, but who knows because that engine production life is ending. Perhaps the Z/28 will be a limited release as people have suggested, making it more rare with the LS7. On the other hand, it does make sense that the Z/28 will have an entirely different engine, what with everything going to smaller turbo and super-charged engines in the future.

While I don't agree with the displacement size for the LS7 for any "Z/28" the reason has been argued for it for a great fit because of its rev-ability and the torque it puts out to move our heavy cars. Also if the engines didn't cost 14K+ I would probably be more warmed to the idea for it to be put in there..I want a Z/28, but I don't want to spend 50k plus markup for the baddest NA OEM Camaro to date, and being limited makes it harder for me to get my hands on one!!
