402 Stroker LS3 with FI?
Any knowledgeable engine builders have any thoughts on having the LS3 stroked to 402 with a low compression forged internals FI build? Would this be beneficial? I admit I like the number due the heritage of the old 396 (402's) Camaros. What would be the benefit of this versus a forged build of the standard LS 3? Would there really be any benefit to this versus a standard forged LS3 or a LS 7 FI build. Just trying to get some ideas for my purchase next spring. Thanks in advance.

I am not an expert builder, but the lower the compression ratio the more boost the motor can handle safely. Also The more air and fuel you push into the motor the more heat you are going to get from detonation. So in the end forged products would be better depending on what kind of power you are trying to attain. In regards to the LS7, the cylinder walls are thinner than the walls of the LS3, which makes it a more reliable motor for FI. Just my two cents. Good luck.
