New 1LE owner here
What wait time? I just went to the dealer and picked one off the lot.
Back about 10 years ago I had a 5.7 IROC with some 1LE package parts, Spohn Tq arm mounted to xmember, and a T56 from a 95 swapped in place of the 700R4, so I'm not completely ignorant of the heritage here. Fast forward past a few M6 cars, TBSS, trucks, etc... and one week ago today I was standing on the side of the road cursing a broken input shaft in a 4L60E (my DD GMC) and I didn't even know these cars existed. I decided on a new DD, so searched Chevy for a 1SS manual transmission car. Found one about 75 miles north of me in Clearwater, Blue (well, kinda blue) Black wheels, matte black hood, M6 trans, and 3.91 rear gear. I think to myself, this thing looks sweet and should run good for a daily driver. It only had two options, 1SS and 1LE. 36k MSRP. Perfect. I picked it up Wednesday and I am very impressed. It handles like a slot car and feels very strong. The transmission and gear combo = excellent! I thought it felt different than my other M6 cars had felt, but just chalked it up to not having driven one in 8 years, turns out it's a different gearbox. Paint is much better than any of the GMs I've owned in the past, and it seems a bit harder too. Anyhow, that's my long drawn out introduction post. I may not post much but I'm sure I'll lurk Now, for the only reason you opened the thread, PICS! Getting into the spirit of Camaro ownership again. |

Congrats!
Great color! I'm bitten by the 1LE bug, there's one on the dealer lot I pass by daily. Inferno orange sure looks good.... |

Grats on the car. and yes, you'll be back with the list of mods you'll be applying. There is a therapy group for that. Just havent looked for it yet.

I'm an EFILive guy so I already have tuning capability. Not sure how I want to approach it though, considering I need my warranty intact. I'm tempted to flash it now just to get rid of the skip shift "feature" but... I know how GM can be with tunes so I may wait awhile before I do anything.

Very nice. I love BRM. I found a couple on dealer lots too, but they wanted MSRP or close so I passed. Now I'm paying the price and playing the waiting game. Luckily it's still cold here and not beautiful like it is there or I'd really be climbing the walls.
More pics can never hurt.

This BRM is like the identity crisis blue. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes charcoal, sometimes it even looks similar to my old Cosmos Purple GTO... It is really beginning to grow on me, I'm sure I'll like it even more once I get a few coats of LAVA on it.

Congratulations! A most excellent choice in XM stations as well I had an 89 Iroc built right before the 1LE was an option - miss that car.

You know this car feels similar to my modded 3rd Gen, the way it rides, and how low you sit in comparison to the dash. Obviously much more refined but I did have a flashback the moment I sat down in it. It's almost like driving a real life Hot Wheels car, lol.
I love that SGM BTW, I bet it looks amazing in the bright sun.

no need to flash the skip shift out, $15-20 gets you a plug-in eliminator if you haven't seen that mentioned elsewhere yet |
