Yeah mentioned that, I'd go out and race with him and any other local who wants to get some runs in. He does make like 440rwhp and I make 370rwhp so unless he has huge traction issues he should be quicker.

true, but i think hes gonna need a little practice before pulling the times its capable of. Hes changed a lot since the last time he was at the track. So your best odds are in the first few races haha.

Maybe but if we went out as a group it's always fun to compete but also help each other.
JBruno is trying to go mid 13's with his V6, I think he's got a 13.7 on paper. He'd probably come out with us with a little notice.

Oh yeah, he brought his car out with me once. its very impressive for a bolt on only V6 car for sure. The DA was just cruddy the day we went. I bet we could coax him enough to bring out his new DD that he picked up a few weeks ago haha

We all know what an AWD TBSS will run, I'm trying to pull together a CAMARO racers group.
What's your latest? Pistons, rods, balance it, assemble let's go racing. If you do a new kit you're done for the year. :0

Thought I'd let you know what I found out about using 18X9.5 Vette wheels on the front. I'm running square 295-45-18's on Grand Sport wheels. The section width is 11 3/16. I had the same problem with no strut clearance and went with AKATA 5mm spacers. I found two issues. The AKATA spacers I got last fall are 5 7/8" diameter and the wheel mounting pad is 6". Might not be a problem but I thought I'd make you aware of it. Biggest issue is that when you use a 5mm spacer you only have 4 and 3/4 threads of the lug nut on the stud. (DOT requires 6 threads on new manufactured products.) I used Gorilla 68148 ET lug nuts to get enough threads on the stud. Again, might not be a problem???? I've got some 3mm spacers ordered in hopes I can use the factory nuts since I think they are stronger than using ET nuts. I'm sure it would not be an issue if you only go fast in a straight line. In addition to the drag strip, I go to the road course occasionally. Hope this helps. IHADA69l78. Gary |

Thanks for sharing, I'm pretty dopey when it comes to measuring stuff, but is it safe to say that your tires are wider than my 265/50/18's?
Where did you order the 3mm spacers from? My Akata 5mm ones should be here mid-week, thanks for the heads up. I have two sets of lugs here, stock and whatever black ones Apex sells. I could do longer studs too. I have a thread on these wheels in the wheel section if you wanted to continue talking about them there.

I'm not sure about your tire width. Your tires may be a few thousands wider.

Plus i found out i need new turbos too so that really put a damper on everything. If i can get enough to get the motor back together and get new turbos i will bolt it all up and try to get a couple more trips in... but if i cant get it back together by winter then i am gonna do a new kit.

Some folks don't mind long build times, I'm one of those folks who doesn't like them.
That said, I'd like to see if the 18's will help up front and my small increase in shift points (+1 mph on all the shifts), as well trying some different launch techniques. Thinking of going out at some point. Anyone else? NLR hooking good? Byron?

I'm having eye surgery on the 1st so I'm out this weekend but keep me posted if you go to NLR in the future.

I told them I could still race right, and was told my eye may pop out Its actually more the drugs I'll be on (medical of course) that is stopping me from going.
This like the fourth time on this eye in the last 6 months and they say they won't charge for this one so kind of warranty I guess.
