I get this a lot as well. Hey haters are always going to hate. I just tell them 312HP is all I need right now. Mine is a daily driver. I will eventually have an SS but not at age 19.

Allow me to correct you, as Chevy says the 18" wheel-equipped Camaros top speed is 113 MPH.

I bought an auto because I wanted one. I enjoy cruising around and being relaxed. I'm also the only driver of this car and it's my summer car. That being said it doesn't bother me, I just laugh. I know what I have and why I bought it.

Anyone else get the wtf auto and V6 treatment and how do you handle it?
Nope. I just get the "nice car" comments and lots of stares.

I always use premium, And what kind of people live their in Pittsburg that actually looks to see what type of gas your putting in there ? Never had anyone even notice what type of fuel I was pumping in the tank.
Best come back I say from " oh its a V6 " Is yah it only tops out at 155mph ? Then I watch their jaw drop,

You can always point out that the base 396 c.i. monster V8 of the 60s, which has always been a muscle car icon engine, was rated at two more horsepower (325) than your wimpy little V6 (which has 323hp). If they know anything about the history of muscle cars... that will shut 'em up, or at least make them realize your V6 Camaro is pretty special.

I do get asked about the engine size. It don't bother me. Hell most of the time I tell them its a V6. It's impressive the mileage and power you can get out of the V6. Proud V6 owner here. Haters gona hate don't let it bother you.

It really doesn't matter if you drive a V8,V6, stick, auto, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc.. I'm 48 and starting 30 yrs ago I had a sweet 79 Trans Am and it was "I would have got the vette" thing from people. Over the years I had a 91 Z28, 1980 vette, 2008 Mustang Gt and now a beautiful V6 Camaro. Every "muscle type' car (mostly V8`S) I've owned I have heard you should have bought this or I would have bought that (haters are gonna hate). I always smile and let it roll off my shoulders, and be very happy & thankful for what I have .

My first car was a 95 HP 6 cylinder 2 speed automatic that was lucky to get 25 mpg. I now have a 323hp 6 cylinder 6 speed automatic that gets 29 MPG.
I have never had anyone ask out in the real world why I got a V6 or automatic. Just is it a 6 or 8 and is it fast. My answer is always the same, it's a V6 with 323HP and its fast enough for me.
