I’m a lucky man and I also need an opinion or 100.
Not to brag but, I met my wife for lunch the other day and decided to bust the Camaro out of hibernation for an hour or so. I keep it in storage away from home during the winter. I see it almost every day, but she doesn’t see it all that often. Every once in a while I bring it home for a day or two. I’m lucky enough to have an amazing wife of nearly 9 years and a pretty cool car too.
Also, I need some opinions, I’ve got my heritage grill installed and the bowtie mount finally came in from GM. Thing is I’ve gotten used to no bowtie and I’m second guessing installing it now. I got the gold part of the bowtie paint matched ABM. Opinions? Pictures to follow.

I prefer painted bowties. Sliver part matte black, yellow part CRT. Front and rear. Also, Camaro fender emblems and both SS badges are matte black. Painted all the ugly silver/grey internal door and dash trim pieces CRT. Painted stripes too.

I think the bowtie actually looks good on the Heritage grill.
Besides, yours will look great since it matches.

I think a white SS emblem in the middle would be the best. Heritage grills with the white old school SS emblem in the middle look awesome to me. The best look IMHO.

I think no badges is the cleanest look.

Best option in my opinion. If I HAD TO put something in the grill it would be an SS emblem.

I’m not particularly fond of the 4 holes in the bumper that I have to deal with if I remove the plate mount. Thanks for the feedback everyone else, keep it coming. There’s some really nice looking cars in here. I was just thinking the other day about getting some of the old school RS headlight covers. After seeing some in this thread I think I’m gonna do that next.

You asked for opinions..
I think that original is characature-ish. Cartoonish in size and color (gold) I like gold but it doesn't match and too big here. To me painting it a color other than black just isn't enough to disguise it. I went with an original 1969 as the car was made to look like. I'd go with that especially since your car is similar blue, if not the old SS emblem, 3rd a "flowtie"", 4th choice black painted, 5th bare, 6th body color or other color, worst case the oem "Cars" movie look. |
