Nitto Motivo vs Continental ExtremeContact DWS

so when my Invos are done (which will probably be soon) im going to be switching tires....i think. i really do like the Invo's a lot. zero complaints about them at all...except for that 260 treadware.

id like to pick something up that will last a little longer and still give me some performance. i dont need anything crazy since i have a set of 555R's for the track. so that part really isnt to important. im just looking for an all around good tire for a decent price. this is where my search has landed me....Nitto or Continental. and ill preface that with both will be 315/35-20.

The Motivo has a 560 treadware and what appears to be good all season qualities. i mean they sure as hell convince you that its a good tire when you look up the info on Discount Tire Direct. i also think that the Motivo is a better looking tire.

The ExtremeContact DWS has a 540 treadware...but compared to the 560 of the Nitto its pretty much negligable. and just like discount tire, Tire Rack does a great job of making these sound like awesome tires as well.

so im torn...while i do like Nitto i am also very open to other options. i want a performance tire but i dont want to worry about sliding off the road every time the weather changes. so these seem like the best two options...plus they're priced very similar...only about a $14 difference between them.

so...can anyone tell me how they like either one of these tires?

I put a set of DWS on my '11, 255 and 295, really liked em for DD. I had 20K on em when I sold the car and they did not show any wear. Great tire for this part of the country.

I have the Nitto Motivo on my DD. Good ride, quiet, no problems at 7k.Better than the OEM tires for me.

I have the DWS's (275/315) on my car. No complaints at all. They're a terrific all-season radial. The one thing that I really do like is that they have a very extended lip that sticks out past the wheel to protect against curb rash. It has saved my Forgestars on a couple of occasions already!!!! But I have not seen the Motivo's in person, maybe they have the same thing?

You can see it a little bit in this picture....the tire sticks out past the wheel lip at least 1/4", maybe more like 3/8".

see im running a 10" wheel...and from i've read the Invo's im currently running run small...so a 315 Invo is really more like a 295-305. so maybe 315 may not be the way to go on these.

The Continental DWS are top rated in the all season category with our customers. I highly recommend them if your looking for an all season tire. The OP and I have already talked but I though I would share for others who may be reading the thread.

I have the DWS on my 99 right now. They grip good and do good in the rain. Haven't tried snow yet. They don't seem to be wearing very fast. They make it harder to drift the car because they grip too much. Sidewalls are a little soft, but that makes for nicer DD ride.

I am looking into the same choice as you for the ZL1. I want to get some 10's on all 4 corners. It looks like the 315 will bulge out too much. The Motivos might run smaller, but I haven't seen any pics. That's what we need to see now. Do you have any pics of your wheel setup posted? Thanks.
