CGM idea-need feed back - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

First I have CGM and am thinking about painting the bowties and maybe doing vinyl on the gills but it got me thinking about just painting the gills too.

so now i need feedback.

first what color blue is in CGM paint? I would really like to do some sort of medium/dark metalic blue on the bowties and figured the stuff in the paint would probably match perfectly, i just dont know what it is.

that said what should I do for the gills? I was thinking about black vinyl (its cheap easy to remove if i dont like it). However I was also thinking about maybe just going ahead and getting them painted. My first thought is black but then I was wondering... what about the same color I do the bowties...

I know without specific pictures and colors this is difficult but any feed back would be great

I think the blue bowties will look great with CGM. I can give you the number for the shop who did my stripes and I know they can find out for you what blue is in the CGM and they will do a great job painting them too, they did mine black and they did a great job.

For the gills...I'm not sure that black will really stand out on the CGM but I also don't know that blue would look good either as it might stand out too much. I wouldn't paint them for sure unless you know its what you want, if you know for sure you will like it then I would definitely paint it instead of vinly because I think it would look better.

Honestly for those I would buy a set of vinyls, keep in mind that they will probably have to at the very least clear the entire side panel if you get them painted. Go talk to rider or auto trim design for the decals.

Blue ties would look cool with CGM

I plan on at some point having my bowties painted CGM, but if I were you, I'd just get the vinyl gill accents.. it's cheap, and easy. If one day you decide to take them off, some goo be gone and a hair drier and they'll be off in 5 minutes flat. It will cost a good chunk of money to have them painted off, and then if you dont like it, you're screwed.

Hey guys, just a heads up. I will be doing the knockouts for the chevy emblems and offering them on EBay within weeks. They will come in 2 different blue metallics and many other colors including (but not limited to) 2 reds, two blacks, white, and even pink and purple for those that like those colors. I will also have some gill designs. The ones above are a fade, screen printed on clear vinyl, I will not be offering those. I will have many other solid vinyl designs, for those interested, keep your eye out for a thread by me. Probably in the next week or two, my SS is due in any day, so I will be test fitting and taking pictures to use on the auctions.

They are Vinyl. Hopefully later down the road I`ll paint them on.

heres the deal with paint its permanent. with decals if you have to many or the wrong ones it can be tacky. But to me to start painting a bunch of stuff can be tacky as well, and if you change your mind paint isnt reversible. To me for small things like bowties, gills and even stripes do decals, they are cheaper and are removable. And as long as they are taken care of they will last.
