Stock SS brake pads okay?

Are the stock 2014 SS brake pads okay for autocross? Looking at the Hawk Performance ceramic if not. Don't want squealing brakes on the street!

Yup. Ceramics would be a downgrade.

Yes the stock pads are actually a pretty decent pad. Ceramics would be a downgrade as Synner said. I typically only recommend Ceramics to show cars and those who don't do much aggressive driving. They are great for low dust/noise but not so great for performance.

DTC-30 and HP+ rear for track use have worked well but I will be going a different route next pad change.

Hawk HPS are High Performance Street pads. LTS are Light Truck/SUV so they are definitely not what you want. HPS are a good all around performance pad but for serious track use you need something more like what Synner mentioned.

I got mine from JDP for a good deal. Or get the part numbers from Hawk's website and use the google machine, plenty of deals out there.

The factory pads are better then the CP pads for Autocross. Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions.

The HPS pads are good for street duty and light abuse. If you're tracking I would suggest the DTC-30/HP Plus combo which is what we run on our Camaro. You'll have to call or email us for the good prices as Hawk has a MAP policy (Minimum Advertized Price) that we follow.

Have you had a particular issue with that set up? I do have a number of customers that run the DTC-30/HP Plus combo for track duty and the HPS for the street.

Please feel free to call, email or PM us anytime with questions. We have real world experience with every product we sale so we can help you get dialed in for your specific needs.

Kind regards,

The performance has been fine but the brake dust embedded itself into my wheels and ruined the finish despite having wax and a brake dust release agent applied. I'm fine with being covered in brake dust but I don't expect it to be embedded in the paint so I will be trying something else that's hopefully a tad gentler on the wheels.
