Might want to try the elctronics/ radio section for better help. I unfortunately know nothing of upgrading these radios yet.

Are you looking for single or double din? Do you want navigation? There are so many out there to choose from. I have the scosche kit and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have any issues with this unit. I choose the pioneer avic 8000 nex. I pre ordered it and should be released in mid march. This unit looks the best for the time being with navigation. I am not sure how quick you want a radio but there is one kit that I just found on this forum that looks really promising but not sure what overall quality of this unit will be. It is an android unit and so is the pioneer. But this unit has an 8" screen and looks stock. Check it out. I think those are your two best options, IMO. Here's the link to that radio,

It looks good...but they're made in China so I don't know if they're going to be reliable.

Here's my setup. Did the install and wiring myself. I wanted a single-DIN because I wanted to use the remaining DIN space to fabricate a place for all my switches for the car. However, I still wanted in-dash DVD, Nav, XM, etc. This one has it all, in a single space.
The first is the link to the YouTube video, and the second link is to pictures of the install itself that I did. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=b43abe160e

I'm waiting on the pioneer nex units. Only a few more weeks. I think they have resolved the app issues and have the perfect combination of features you expect in a car radio unit.
