Advice On Camaro Purchase

It is down to a 2011 2SS (Silver) Auto, 48,000 miles for 24K.
or 2011 2LT, RS (Black) Auto, 7,270 miles for 24K.

Would not hesitate to buy 2SS, concerned about the high miles. Will put over 15 thousand miles a year on vehicle.

The question I would ask myself is how long do you plan to keep the car if you plan to put that many miles on it per year?

Pretty huge question. Is another option to keep shopping? Find like a '10 SS with low mileage or just see which '11 and '12 SS's come down on price?

I'd get the 2SS if it's been well cared for and you can handle the extra fuel and insurance cost. If you are going to be racking up 15,000 miles a year anyway I don't think starting out at 48,000 is a big deal. In my world that car is just getting broken in.

I personally would be hesitant on that SS with that mileage, but that is just me. As another said, look for one with lower mileage. You may still have some warranty on the low mileage one as well....

Best of luck in your decision making.

Jim

The SS isn't too bad of a price but the V6 is a little high though I think even with the RS package. If you have your heart set on a V8 go that route if you can afford it. Even though I love my V6 and the MPG is great I still have that thought that I should have gotten the SS. I don't regret my purchase though and love the car I have. Good luck with your search.

Dean.

offer 21k on the SS tell them you dont want the v6. even if you dont care whether you get a v6 or v8 they probably paid 21k for the SS so you might get it for 22k

I should have bought a ZL1

Go find a new dealer where they aren't trying to screw you on the price. I agree with JCunningham, offer 21k for the SS and let them talk you to 22k at most. That's quite a bit of mileage for an '11.

With as many miles you are planning on driving per year, your cost per mile will be higher with the SS. SS needs premium gas and gets less MPGs than the V6.

If you plan on using the Camaro and racking up miles, I would not get a low milage car. I'd get one at the range you are looking at. They have a 5 year, 100k mile powertrain warranty, so if something goes wrong within the time frame, it will be covered. In my opinion, there is no reason to pay the premium of a low milage car just to rack up the miles. I bought my 2010 2SS with 47k miles on it for about what they are asking for the 2SS you are looking for a couple years ago. I now have 63k miles on it and the car has been fantastic. I'd get the 2SS because the V8 sound is awesome!
