Performance wise... Not seeing a lot of difference. Both have LS3's, both have the same manual tranny, willing to bet same pumpkin too.

MRC is a nice addition, but not enough to overcome the downgrade in looks for me.

Well, looks are subjective. And we will probably never agree, which is fine. But the last time I sat in a G8, I couldn't get over the horrible interior. Wasn't too comfortable. IMO

The SS is a killer car but like said above just more than I want to spend right now.
You better drive that 2.0 ats. I did, and boy was I disappointed.

It isn't intended to survive as far as I understand it. It's not even that expensive compared to what comes with it. The only reason it looks expensive is because it already comes fully loaded.

Nothing else gives you all that for the money, so how is it overpriced?

What people fail to realize is this is essentially an Impala SS. It's a RWD V8 full size sedan with a ton of luxury trimmings. The pricing makes sense when you consider a fully loaded Impala LTZ V6 already hits $40k.

This isn't a G8 with a base V6 model and an interior manufactured by Fisher-Price.

No both the G8 and the SS are rebadged Holden Commodores. .

They're rebadges of two different models of Commodore. G8 was a VE Commodore and SS is a VF Commodore. They're similar in appearance but VF is vastly more refined.

Precisely. Same car just two different generations. Definitely not an Impala.

And still prefer the prior generation VE over the VF.

I'm not saying it's an Impala. I'm saying it's essentially what an Impala SS would be if GM built one. It's a full size performance sedan that starts off where Impala LTZ leaves off.

I drove a straight 2.5 and I too was disappointed. I think the Turbo version might be adequate. The car itself the 2.0 was really nice but was just short on power I think the Turbo will fix that.

The interior on the SS is so much better in quality, design and layout compared to the G8; there really is no comparison imo. While the exterior is on the bland side; it's not ugly. A couple of minor tweaks could really make it a hot car.

My friend just picked one and I was blown away how nice the interior is. Definitely not your grandpa's car anymore.
