Drag setup suggestions!
I've been considering purchasing a drag setup so I can get better ET's and 60 fts but I'm not quite sure which route to go to. I know the popular wheels right now are the Bogart's and the Weld's and I really like both so idk what to do lol
How is fitment on these? Does it require lots of modification? I'm thinking of going 17" but idk what size would be best The setup will be going on a 2010 2SS with H/C/I + 100 shot. Running an RXT and stage 4 dss axles along with PFADT sway bars, bmr end links & brackets and XA coilovers. Is there anything else I should consider upgrading for the strip? Also, how tall tire should I run? Its my understanding that the taller the tire, the less stress there is on my drivetrain but I'm a little concerned as far as fitment goes... Thanks for all your help guys and sorry for asking so many questions but I just wanna make sure I get myself a good set on the first time lol

I can deal with 2-3 grand for a nice setup. I won't have that much money by tomorrow but I can save up or buy a wheel at a time or something haha

$2k will easily get you either the welds or Bogarts. If you drive to the track and don't want to deal with changing tires go with the welds. Bogarts aren't really meant for the street. Try to stay as close as possible to a 28" tall tire. To much variance in either direction will not only alter ther gearing but may upset the Stabilitrak system.

What about a 15'' setup? what benefit does that give? Is backspacing and offset hard to get right when it comes to bogarts or welds? Thanks for the help man! Appreciate it

For the 15" kit. You don't need it and its 4x your budget. Benefit is more tire choices and a thicker sidewall for better bite. Bogart will send you what fits. Just call Rich and choose a style. The welds you'll need to find the right part number. I'm sure it's floating around this forum somewhere. Summit or Jegs seems to be a gd place to get them. |

Oh alright. Well I guess I'm better of staying with a 17" setup then. I'll give him a call and go from there. Appreciate it!

Chalo,
Why don't we just get some white powdercoated Forgestar F14 18x10.0 or 18x11.0 for the rear? Then you can run the Mickey Thompson 305/45-18 drag radial, and it will match your current front wheels. Keep it simple, and inexpensive. I have customers running 9s on that combo. Email me when you are ready! Tony

A ton of people have had success with the z06/zr1 wheels. You can pick them up for 100 each at tire rack cheapest and (in my honest opinion) best way to go. Spend the rest of your budget on go fast parts.
