...and I've deleted as many.

Due to the current climate GM does need to issue this recall to cover their butts, however I doubt many will actually do this.

What it does do is increase awareness about the problem which in itself is a plus.

Great get rid of this oversized key fob way to big for doing basic lock un-lock and open trunk

Bring car in with 27000 miles on it, leave with 27050 and a new set of swirls, no thanks.

This seems like a really stupid recall, especially in light of the Cobalt recall. Remember on those the weight of the separate key fob was said to be the problem so they wanted you to drive with the ignition key only? Now on the Camaro they want to ADD a separate fob? How does than make any sense?
Makes NO sense

I'm all about calling but in their eyes, they are saving money this way and the fact that they have a 2016 model coming out soon, they won't put much effort into Gen5 anymore.

Sounds like a much better idea NOW doesnt it, GM!!!

SMH!
This is the MOST LEVEL HEADED option they can choose. I wish they would do it though

The only way I'd do this was if a push start was the solution. I was actually bummed when I started looking into a Camaro for my next car and found out it wasn't a push start... My dads older Nissan Murano had it... But I said whatever.

To go from expecting push start to this old school looking key is a huge no no. Come on GM. In Canada, I paid over $50k for my car and you want to give me a key that looks like this??!! Such bullshit

Why does the style of key make a difference here? If you hit your knee on a regular key won't it cause the same issue?

thank god. Personally, I hate the switchblade. It's too bulky in the pocket. I would LOVE to have a separate key and remote.

They are so quick to announce this all over the web but not on their own my Chevy page??!! My account tells me that my Camaro isn't involved in any recalls. Guess I'm special

So they are saying all 2010-2014? CRAZY.
Just don't go get the new key if you don't want it. I don't. I don't know how my knee could ever get anywhere close to the key fob while driving...
