Mrs. Blur fueled the fire... (Possible SS Supercharged Build)
She may have suggested that a supercharger would be a good idea after these college loans are finally gone. Who am I to disagree?
I'm now considering my options. The goal is to have a powerful daily driver. As it stands, the L99 is pushing headers and an intake. With forced induction, I'm seeing a lot of kits all over the place and need some help sorting out the stats. I'm not trying to make my SS a weekend-only car. It will still be a daily driver after forced induction. The idea is to get the most reliable setup possible. Obviously, I also want to beat the snot out of whoever wants to meet at the strip. Discuss.

Procharger F1-X! Run low boost on stock motor. Then when it's time for more..it's just a pulley change away.

I didn't build mine (bought it already setup). It is an ECS kit with all of the goodies. If I were building something more of a daily driver, I would probably go PD blower. The centri is awesome...above 3500RPM. In reality, I spend 99% of my time between 1500 and 2500RPM. Of course, once the 4L80E goes in, I plan on using all 850RWHP at the track (until I break more stuff and the wife takes the keys away from me)!

If I was going to put a super charger on a SS I would install a Heartbeat. I have had 3 different superchargers on my Camaro and owned 2 other cars with superchargers. I'm partial to the roots type blowers and think the Heartbeat is the best available right now.
If I was in your shoes, with nothing on the car, I would be looking real hard at the AGP turbo kit. I must admit that their Camaro kit seems to really give you a lot of power for the money and with the ability to use a boost controller, you can make it as docile as you want without a pulley swap.

Agreed with Jess. Stock AGP kit just made 1030rwhp with base turbos still not pushing it too hard. For the price of a kit that can make 500-1100rwhp without adding any upgrades I dont think it can be beat.

SLP TVS2300, drivability is same as stock. You can stop with the basic kit until you get power hungry...and you will.

And that's on a non loaded dyno with just the small lighter roller. That car under actual load I assure you makes 5% more total power and makes it 1000rpm sooner.
Those turbos are close to maxed out there. Turned up all the way on a loaded dyno that car would do easy 1100+whp. But those are just the base size turbos. |
