My ZL1's First Detail
I just want to share some pics of the results from my first detail of my ZL1. I have had this car since Dec 13th, and so far it basically has been kept dry in the garage. However, the paint needed some tlc despite it being kept dry and element free.
Here are the particulars: '14 ZL1 Blue Ray Metallic Wash: Mother's California Gold Car Wash Clay: Griot's Garage Clay Polish: Sonus SFX 2 Enhance (Swirl Mark or Medium Cut Polish), Lake Country 5" Polish pad; SFX 3 Final Finish Polish, 5" Green finishing pad; Sonus Paintwork cleanser, 5" black finishing pad. Clean-up: Sonus Acrylic Spritz Detail Spray x2. Light Seal/condition: Sonus Acrylic Glanz Spray. Wax/LSP: Zymol Vintage The start: Starting is never easy, but just some masking and then polishing as usual. I found this surface to be slightly more sensitive than my previous cars. Perhaps because of the paint being still new. My favorite three words: Ready for Wax! Surface after first round of Vintage

Hey thanks for the compliments. Post #9, she's all stock. Perhaps I should switch out the pads because they dust up like crazy. The front wheels always get dirty after a drive. I thought my TBSS was bad but the ZL front wheels get far dirtier!
Anyways, yes its a labor intensive exercise but I hunger for the result.

Sharp ride, man!
I did some paint correction today myself. I used some Meguair's Medium Cut Cleaner and spent about two hours just working the top of the car. It sure is a lot of work but it is so worth it.

It's great to see someone using a great product that's not to much talk about. Your ZL1 came out awesome and bet it turns heads ( or snap them ) everywhere you go! TY for this thread.

Thanks again for the comments. Its a good thing to have a set of products that are reliable and bring you the results year after year. It is also a good thing to switch up and learn some different techniques and/ or product mixes that can also give you results.
Its still a labor of love (as I like to call it). Every winter I daydream about a new detail, and every spring and summer I dread heading into a detailing date, go figure.
